Start-up Plus is a Dutch blended educational programme, encouraging entrepreneurship for people over 50 who are retired, unemployed or employed with an idea to start their own business.

ILC Singapore at Tsao Foundation, in partnership with the ILC UK will be holding a two day workshop on 14-15 October 2019 in Singapore to understand the state of policies and practices of adult vaccination in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

ILC Global Alliance joined the Stakeholder Group of Ageing (SGA) which hosted a side event titled “Confronting ageism and empowering older persons “ on July 9, 2019 at the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, UN, New York.

It is with enormous sadness that we mark the loss of esteemed colleague and cherished friend, Dalmer Hoskins, who passed away in Washington DC on June 4th after a sudden illness.

As Associate Professor at the Andalusian School of Public Health (Escuela Andaluza de Salud Publica, EASP), ILC Global Alliance Co-President Alexandre Kalache conceived and coordinated the First International Longevity Forum in Granada in the first week of June. Baroness Sally Greengross ( ILC-UK President and ILC-GA Senior Ambassador) and Silvia Perel-Levin (ILC-GA Representative to the United Nations in Geneva) provided keynote addresses.

Her Royal Highness has a long held interest in dementia and she established a foundation to train health and social workers on dementia care many years ago.

Compared to almost 20 years ago when the Madrid International Plan of Action (MIPPA) 2002 was adopted, technology has advanced at a phenomenal pace. ILC Global Alliance recommends the CSocD to highlight the importance of digital inclusion of older persons and specifically the need for digital training as a major component of lifelong learning for older persons.

International Longevity Centre (ILC) Canada/ILC Global Alliance along with Life Research Institute, the University of Ottawa co-hosted the side event titled “Live Well, Learn Well - an International, Inter-sectorial Discussion on Lifelong Learning and Income Security” on 15th April 2019.

Silvia Perel-Levin, chair of the NGO Committee on Ageing, Geneva and Representative of the International Longevity Center Global Alliance, led the morning briefing for NGOs with the presenter, Bridget Sleap, the senior rights policy advisor for HelpAge International on 16th April 2019. Briefing took place in the United Nations headquarters in New York.
