3rd September 2025
A celebration of connection, inclusion, and rights at every age.
Ageism Awareness Week (October 1–9, 2025) is a collaborative national campaign led by the Canadian Coalition Against Ageism (CCAA), in alignment with the International Day of Older Persons (October 1), Canada’s National Seniors Day (October 1), and Ageism Awareness Day in the U.S. (October 9).
This week amplifies efforts to raise awareness about ageism in all its forms and sectors – healthcare, media, policy, communities, and workplaces.
The campaign aims to recognise the contributions of older people, advocate for their rights, and combat ageism through storytelling, education, and community participation — while advancing inclusion, intergenerational connection, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
