NEWS:

To celebrate World Women’s Day on 8th March, ILC-I organized an online Essay competition exclusively for older adults where they expressed their thoughts on the topic titled “An inspiring lady who has influenced my life!”

ILC-India organized an online Essay Competition with the support of Gharda Chemicals Ltd. Under CSR to celebrate World Women’s Day by acknowledging the contributions of an influencing lady in the lives of older adults. The topic given for this competition was “An inspiring lady who has influenced my life!”

The motive was to encourage seniors to recollect memories of an inspiring lady in their social circle or person life and how her teachings/decisions have positively impacted the lives of older adults. This was also to encourage them to write and participate as part of healthy ageing.

To ease out the efforts of posting the essays through hard copies, we conducted this competition in online mode and seniors actually shared their essays via email or Whatsapp. ILC-I has given them permission to click a photo of their writing and most of them shared those snaps, which made it easier for them to participate in the competition.

The names of the winners will be announced on 7th March on ILC-I’s website and Facebook page. The winners will get a cash prize and an opportunity to present their essays in an online webinar which would be conducted in the second week of March.

We received overwhelming responses across Maharashtra, India.
