Audio-Visual Infotainment Programme for Senior Citizens (India Sep.08) ILC-I will be launching its "Audio-Visual Infotainment Programme for Senior Citizens" in September 08. ILC-I, with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India has developed a special package of audio-visual CDs. These CDs have contents, both with regard to information and entertainment, which are solely about senior citizens' interests, like, yoga, music, devotional music, philosophical discourses, and films of yesteryears. There are three types of packages, each specifically designed for the senior citizens from the urban, the rural and the tribal areas of the state of Maharashtra, India. The objective of the programme is to develop the senior citizens' organizations as centres of recreation and information and to help alleviate the sense of loneliness and isolation amongst the elders by bringing them together to watch these CDs. ILC-I will also be distributing questionnaires to the seniors which would help evolve the impact study to be conducted at the end of the programme                 [ news index ]
