Initiating Geriatrics Training program (Dominican Republic Jul.07)
Till recently the Dominican Republic did not have a training program in geriatrics and due to numerous interventions in the Ministry of Health and together with the Dominican Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology of which I am past President,, we now have a training program and we have been appointed as a member of the board of selection of candidates and Professor of the program.
We recently interviewed 13 candidates to choose 4 that will do 2 years of Internal Medicine and 2 years of Geriatrics.
On the 27 of the present month ILC-DR will have a conference to promote exercise as a method of improving quality of life and were we will introduce the digy walkers kindly donated by ILC-USA. The activity will be celebrated in Hotel Clarion with the sponsorship of Novartis Laboratory. |
