Monica Ferreira, ILC South Africa, is the recipient of INPEA's 2012 International Rosalie S. Wolf Memorial Award for Research, Practice and Prevention of Elder Abuse.

The third session of the UN Open-ended Working Group (OEWG) on Ageing met in New York, August 21-25, 2012. The session recommended the continuation of the group’s mandate.

On the 1st of October 2012, Dr Rosy Pereyra, President of ILC-Dominican Republic and Coordinator of the Dominican Network for Dignity in Old Age, was honoured with an award as one of the Great Dominicans of 2012.

The Support Active Ageing through Immunisation (SAATI) working group, comprised of healthcare advocates and professionals, was established in late 2011, with the aim of promoting the development of improved adult immunisation strategies and policies across Europe.

‘’The Celebrating Age’’ India Expo 2012, is an active ageing Retirement Expo series that was launched in Bengaluru, India, on the 1st and 2nd of September 2012 by Dr. Monica Ferreira, Co- President of  the International Longevity Centre Global Alliance (ILC GA), and Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, President of  International Longevity Centre – India (ILC-India).

The International Longevity Centre Global Alliance (ILC GA) will be taking an active role at the Open-ended Working Group (OEWG) on Aging (Third Session) to be held at the United Nations, New York, August 21-25.

A new report co-authored by the International Longevity Centre-UK was launched at the Global Health Policy Summit on August 1st.

Ageing experts from across the world will come together this week to consider how we can ensure that public policymakers ensure that our ageing world is an opportunity not a threat.
