2 Research Project (national subsidy project)

1. A Continued Survey on a Daily Life of Older People

This five year continued survey and research has eventually come to an end. It aims to identify diverse factors which sustain independent daily life of people aged 75 and older, as well as guidelines for independence in aging society.
Year-by-year changes of their general living condition were surveyed, including Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, mind and body conditions, families and friends, human relationship in the communities, housing conditions, health care and long-term care, etc.
We would like to introduce the research outcome to the world by the report titled “For the people aged 75 and over to continue their independent daily life”.

2. Death and dying at home
We have just started our new research project to analyze the causes why it is getting more and more difficult to die at home in Japan. And this project is an international comparative survey to investigate what are necessary for people to live the final stage of their life with dignity.
