The change of the legislature in June 2007 saw the re-establishment of the parliamentary study group on longevity with the co-presidency of Doctor Denis Jacquat and Mrs Danièle Hoffman-Rispal, MP of Paris. *Aging in a Foreign Land (AFL)
The "Aging in a foreign land" project designed by the Academy of Medicine of New York "(Nyam) --Dr Alexandre Kalache - is an international effort to understand the relationship between aging and migration. Through an in-depth exploration of the everyday life of older migrants far from their home country, this project aims to inform national and international governments and the various structures involved, the policies and practices currently in courses and desirable.
The different objectives are:

  1. To describe the experience of immigrants and their families as they get older abroad
  2. To identify the best practices and policy measures that allow for active aging for older immigrants,
  3. To encourage the adoption of practical measures and policies that guarantee the rights of migrants as they get older.
