New websites appear daily, but this is the first time there has ever been a world-wide website that reflected one of the great geopolitical events of our time, namely, population aging. This website is the product of an alliance of 12 centers devoted to the understanding of the impact of population aging and advancing longevity in societies.
These 12 centers - the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, the Dominican Republic, India, Argentina, South Africa, The Netherlands, Israel, Singapore and Czech Republic - offer a worldwide view of this great demographic shift in society.
Working together, developing and developed nations can share ideas, conduct policy research, extend education to both professionals and the public, and become ardent advocates on behalf of the needs and rights of older citizens.
We hope and believe that the website of the ILC Global Alliance will prove to be useful to all who have an interest in this remarkable, unprecedented demographic event.
